Artist
Working in concert with the natural world
I am an interdisciplinary artist whose practice is rooted in somatic movement practice. The body and its senses are central to my work, guiding the exploration of responsive materials such as clay and ink to create pieces that aim to reveal the fragility, transience, and beauty of existence. My work is intimately connected to wider ecological themes and a desire to articulate the interconnectedness between humankind and the natural world. Approaches to making are often meditative, allowing me to be completely absorbed in the present moment. The practice of Zen, is the foundation for all my creative endeavours.
“A crow flies overhead, carried south on a tailwind. I see it reflected in the pond, traversing the cloudscape. It wavers and dissolves in a drop of rain”
