An opportunity to respond to the Human Conditions of Clay exhibiton from the John Hansard Gallery, and have some time to develop my own practice.

I cast my face four times and secured them to a moon jar. The faces symbolise the 4 cardinal directions, but also acknowledge 4 stages of life: birth, youth, adulthood and death.

Submerging the piece in the river where I had gathered the foliage allowed the work to return to source.
